Almost forgot I’d prepared one of these — in two parts as per usual — during my past many months of indolence. It’s not as tarted up as some efforts previously available here, but as a rough aural-geographic portrait of my particular 2010, it’ll suffice.

Even while acknowledging their ultimate futility, I can’t help but look over others’ fin de décennie tot-ups. Ordinarily I’d never be moved to compile one, but just this once I’ve managed to get over myself long enough to give it a shot.

We’re talking complete albums only. Enda’s criteria tend to apply to my selection process, for the most part. And it’s a list weightier with personal significance than with claims to Absolute Bestest Of The Decade!! or any such status.

A few notes:
1) Year of release doesn’t always equal year of discovery/immersion – too often there’s been a puzzling lag.
2) Nuthin’ at all from ‘08? What am I overlooking?
3) I could easily reel off a list twice as long of cherished reissues and compilations which saw the light of day this decade. Not sure what that signifies, but so be it, I’m gettin’ old, amn’t I.
